Sara and Erica of Baking JDs were our March 2012 Daring Baker hostesses! Sara & Erica challenged us to make Dutch Crunch bread, a delicious sandwich bread with a unique, crunchy topping. Sara and Erica also challenged us to create a one of a kind sandwich with our bread!
.... I didn't create a sandwhich, I have to admit that, the bread was way too good and I kind of forgot about the sandwich part and just ate the whole thing with some oil on top.
Now, down to business... this bread is AMAZING! Seriously, it's really addictive. It's a bit sweet because of the topping. It's crusty outside but very moist inside so just perfect, the way I like bread!
I thought this would be a hard recipe but it wasn't, you just have to make sure the dough raises, sometimes I just want to put the bread in the oven and I don't have the patience to wait, that's my biggest mistake, but not this time.
Try this, it's really really good! You can find the recipe here.
Oh, and I also got my camera back, I know I have a long way to go before my pictures are good but I'm just so happy that now I can at least make decent pictures!!
Wow, I can't wait until they post the recipe! I hope it's soon because I can't wait to make this! It looks so good I probably would have forgotten to make the sandwich, too.
ResponderEliminarit looks really good :) bet it tastes good as well

What a fun bread it looks delicious.
ResponderEliminarI've always wondered how that crunchy topping was made. if you saw my post on the old Van de Kamp's bakery in California, this was another of their baked goods I ate as a child. I will definitely try this recipe, and share it with my sisters. thanks for baking and showing off! ;)

Mireia, este pan se ve increíble, tengo que probar de hacerlo alguna vez. Y tienes razón, a veces da ganas de meter el pan al horno y no esperar las horas para que leve la masa...sólo hay que tener paciencia...paciencia...
