Spring Cupcakes/Cupcakes de primavera

Desde hoy Baking in Spain en español más abajo…!!!! (Sé que estoy yo más emocionada que el resto, ¡ahora no tenéis excusa! )

Don’t be scared, this post is long but not as much as it looks (half of it is… in Spanish!!)

Most of my family and friends understand what I write in English or they don’t care too much and just look at the pictures. However, there are four people that never understand a word: my grandparents (unless they translate it in the google translator which I just found out they know how to use).

Yes, I’m really lucky, I have my four grandparents with me and they even know how to use internet. It’s pretty amazing, my grandpa Lluis is the best at going through the internet and selecting recipes that he collects and sometimes even cooks (yes, he cooks!) and he makes amazing paellas. My grandpa Celesti has a twitter account (we call him abuelo twitteràgrandpa twitter), if you do understand Spanish I do strongly recommend that you follow him, he writes very interesting stuff. My grandma Rosa has facebook and email, she sends really great emails that always make me smile. My grandma Roser loves geography and she always checks google images to see where we are travelling or living.

The only thing I don’t like is that they live in a town near Barcelona and I live in Madrid so I don’t get to see them that much. That’s why I’ve decided to start writing the same posts in Spanish so that they can actually understand what I’m saying and be a little closer to me.

Now something else, remember the Sex and the City cupcakes? Well, they were for a contest, Desafío Cupcake and I won!! I won MagnoliaBakery’s Cookbook, I’ll be having it home soon and I’m REALLY excited!!  Although I know there’s no chance I’ll win this month I really liked the theme: spring cupcakes so I made some cupcakes, actually not just some... lots of them! And I even took them to Barcelona for my grandparents to try them!

I made lemon cupcakes that you can find in Joy of baking’s website and chocolate cupcakes that you can find in Glorious Treats’blog. The recipe I used for the buttercream for both cupcakes is also from Glorious Treats. I had a great time decorating them, hope you like what I did, I will get better, I promise!! Both recipes were delicious, but I especially liked the chocolate one (because chocolate is ALWAYS better!),  however, most of those who tried them preferred the lemon ones.

Bieeeeeeeeeeeeen voy a empezar a escribir este blog también en español!! La mayoría de mi familia y de mis amigos entienden lo que escribo en inglés o no les importa mucho y sólo miran las fotos (o ni siquiera eso) pero hay cuatro lectores que no entienden una palabra en inglés: mis abuelos (excepto si lo traducen con el traductor de google que me he enterado hace poco que utilizan y estoy impresionada).

Sí, tengo mucha suerte, tengo a mis cuatro abuelos conmigo e incluso saben cómo utilizar internet. Es impresionante, mi abuelo Lluis es el mejor para localizar recetas en internet y seleccionarlas, luego las colecciona e incluso cocina algunas (si, cocina) hace unos arroces impresionantes. My abuelo Celesti tiene una cuenta de twitter (le llamamos el abuelo twitter), recomiendo que lo sigáis, escribe cosas que merece la pena leer. Mi abuela Rosa tiene facebook y email, sus correos siempre me hacen sonreír. Por último, y no por ello menos importante, a mi abuela Roser le encanta la geografía y siempre mira en las imágenes de google los lugares a los que viajamos o en los que estamos viviendo para estar al día. Impresionante verdad?

Lo único que no me gusta es que viven en un pueblo cerca de Barcelona y yo vivo en Madrid por lo que no les veo mucho. Por eso he decidido empezar a escribir los mismos posts en español para que puedan entender lo que digo y estén un poco más cerca de mí.

Dejadme que os moleste un poco mas, os acordáis de los cupcakes inspirados en Sexo en Nueva York? Eran para un concurso, Desafío Cupcake y gané!!! Me enviarán en unos días el libro de Magnolia Bakery, tengo muchísimas ganas de tenerlo en mis manos!! A pesar de que sé que no voy a ganar este mes me encantó el desafío: cupcakes primaverales así que tenía que hacer cupcakes, muchas cupcakes!!!! Incluso les llevé algunas a mis abuelos en Barcelona para que los probasen.

Hice cupcakes de limón cuya receta podéis encontrar en la página Joy of Baking y cupcakes de chocolate que podéis encontrar en Glorious Treats y utilicé el mismo buttercream para ambas, el de GloriousTreats. Las recetas están en inglés, intentaré traducir recetas en otros posts pero este ya es muy largo tal y como está!!! Si alguien las quiere y no entiende inglés que me lo diga y se lo traduzco. Me encantó decorar las cupcakes, espero que os guste lo que hice, pero mejoraré, lo prometo!!! Ambas recetas estabas buenísimas pero a mi me gustó especialmente la de chocolate (porque el chocolate SIEMPRE es mejor!), aunque la mayoría de lo que los probaron prefirieron la de limón... para gustos, los colores!!!
