Facebook, new image and an amazing Mexican dinner!/Facebook, nueva imagen y una impresionante cena mejicana!

(¡Receta en español más abajo!)

I have great news!!!!

I have decided to make a Facebook page of my blog, check it out and let me know what you think!!

Also and as you have probably noticed my blog has changed a litttle. My brother, an amazing artist and designer has made me this logo, isn't it amazing??? He's incredible, you can check out some of his work in his website he has also designed this logo and this other logo for a restaurant. Yes, I'm proud of him (in case you hadn't noticed) he's the BEST BROTHER EVER!!!!!

I also have other news that are specially good news for me. A couple of months ago I went to my friend Ioana's birthday surprise party. She had always told me how her mexican roomie loved cooking and how we were very similar. I didn't really believe it until we met: we are total SOULMATES!!! (in fact one of the pictures with her is from the day we met and each one of us is holding the other's cupcake) She cooks way better than me, and she has a blog too, you can see it here.

Problem?: she is leaving Spain is about two weeks and we didn't really have that much time to hang out. Yesterday I went to her place for dinner, she was going to show me how to cook some mexican dishes and then we would (obviously) eat them. Everything was absolutely delicious but guess what? The story doesn't end there. Since she's leaving to Germany (where someday she'll open her own restaurant) she has a lot of stuff she has to leave here, and a lot of that stuff is for baking and cooking. Do you see where I'm going?? She left me (not without crying a little) with a ton of her stuff, I'm so happy and grateful and at the same time I feel terrible because she won't have her things (you can also see the picture with the stuff she left me). I left the house with a bigger knowledge on mexican food (for example, turns out nachos are tex-mex not mexican, she almost killed me when I said that I loved nachos) and feeling Christmas in June.

Anyway today I will share with you one of the amazing dishes she explained me how to do. Don't feel overwhelmed, it is actually easy as she mentioned, you just need the ingredients (which is not that easy to find in Spain, thank God she left me some supplies).

Mexican Green Sauce Chicken
500 gr chicken
1 small onion (or half of a big onion)
Tomatillos (something like this)
Seedless Chile (half of a big one, depending of how hot you like the food)
Salt
Garlic (one clove)
Pepper
Parsley
Coriander
Epazote
Tortillas

Boil the chicken with the onion until they're cooked. Take them out of the heat. Shred the chicken with a fork and cut the onion. Set aside.

In a bowl beat the rest of the ingredients together (there is no measure for most of the ingredients as it would depend on the person and what they like).

Mix the chicken in the salsa, heat if necessary and just put in a tortilla.

Enjoy!

Tengo buenas noticias!!!

Ayer fui a su piso a cenar, iba a mostrarme cómo cocinar algunos platos mejicanos y después (lógicamente) íbamos a comerlos.

Disfrutar!!

  9. I do love the look of your blog and yes, your brother is super-talented. I've just given your FB page a like! That is so sad that you've just met someone you're so compatible with but now they're leaving! What a shame. But how lovely that she has chosen to give you for kitchen things. At least they are going to a home where she knows they will be used and appreciated. Love the sound of this chicken - quite simple but full of flavour xx
